Facilities: Vessels and Marine Stations

As part of the University of Bergen, the Sars Centre has negotiable access to a variety of marine experimental sites and research vessels, funded internally or with support from the European Commission. These include wet labs, experimental ecosystems, field stations, supercomputers for modelling, and several research vessels including the Remotely Operated Vehicle Aglantha. The largest, newest and supersilent ship, named G.O. Sars is co-owned by the University and the Institute of Marine Research.
