The Sars Centre will be expanding significantly over the next few years. Future plans include an extension of research activities to marine invertebrates as well as to marine bioinformatics, and an increase in the number of research groups. As part of the EMBL contract, the Centre will establish an international PhD programme in collaboration with the UoB and EMBL.

The research group headed by Fabian Rentzsch is offering one PhD student position for three years. The group analyzes neural development in the sea anemone Nematostella vectensis in order to understand the earliest steps in the evolution of nervous systems -
